Try these Great Fall Projects you Can Start on Now
Grandma Sandy is on vacation, returning Wednesday, November 6. In the meantime, each week, we’ll feature a curated collection of the best of “Call Me Grandma!” In today’s post, we’re highlighting some of our favorite fall projects.
Fall is the lovely interim season between the end of summer and the full swing of holiday preparations. It gives us just enough time to start some great fall projects.
Try a New, Hearty Recipe
Succulent Make-Ahead Meatloaf is the ultimate in comfort foods. Bonus points if you actually make it the night before, so you can coast when it’s dinnertime the next day.
This recipe is popular for our Friday night family dinners. Leftovers make delicious sandwiches and can also star in a child’s bento box lunch the next day.
Great Fall Project: Stitch up Some Pumpkins
These soft-sculpture pumpkins are fashioned from old socks. It’s a delightful project for a fall afternoon.
I saved real pumpkin stems from last year’s Thanksgiving table setting to make more pumpkins this year. (The stems in the photo above were made using polymer clay.) Or you can buy pumpkin stems from Etsy.
Great Fall Project: Preserve Memories
Now’s a good time, before the holidays, to think about ways to preserve family memories. Here are some projects, including going back in time to make a baby book for your grandkids.
